Kataro is famous for making its signature red dry wine with the Khndoghni grapes. This red wine has a deep and rich colour, combined with the intensity of dark berry and ripe red fruit aromas, which is further enhanced by the mouth-filling medium-long finish. This wine can be complimented with steak, and medium to strong flavour cheese.

Kataro Red Dry Wine 2021

  • This wine is made from the Khndoghni grape, indigenous to the highlands of Armenia. Other names for this grape sort are Sveni, or Shireni. Khndoghni is mainly used to make full bodied, monovarietal wines. Khndoghni is powerful and deep, rich in tannins and gives the wine extraction and expressiveness, as well as structure. Khndoghni’s wines possess deep red colour, which is combined with the intensity of dark berry and ripe red fruit aromas, further enhanced by the mouth-filling medium-long finish. Moreover, the varietal is used in the blends with other Armenian grape varietals, such as Areni.
